Sept 26–Ed came through, as always and got us in early at Camp LeJeune! We know that we are really going to enjoy it here, the campground is right across the road from the beach.
After getting settled in, we walked the beach and found several cages protecting sea turtle nests!! I would LOVE to see the babies emerge and head to the water, but they will not be hatching in the period we are here….darn.
Sept 28–One of the things we have heard alot about from our camping community is what a cool thing it is to be able to watch the amphibious landings at LeJeune. We are hopeful that we might catch one while we are here…they are not publicly announced, so you just luck into them. We saw the vehicles everyday in the fields around the base.
We walked the beach everyday, usually several times a day…so I will try to be selective with the photos! LOL!
Sept 29–We went to Cedar Point and the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. The aquarium was really cute.
Sept 30-Oct 9–We spent the rest of our time hanging out at the campground and enjoying the beach. I discovered that I am pretty good at spotting sharks teeth!
Again, we hate to leave this campground and look forward to staying here again in the future! Heading south again tomorrow …
